Sir Isaac Newton.
Newton worked on developing calculus and physics at the same time and during his work he came up with the three basic ideas that are applied to the physics of most motion. The ideas have been tested and verified so many times over the years, that scientists now call them Newton's Three Laws of Motion.
  • First Law: Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it.
  • Second Law: The relationship between an object's mass m, its acceleration a, and the applied force F is F = ma.
  • Third Law: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
